Mandelbrot in Blender

Renders of the mandelbrot set in Blender3D, using the open-source development feature. The benefit of calculating the Mandelbrot set in Blender is that we can use it as a texture, and render complex 3D shader interactions!

Quicker alternative to adding a slight 3D effect, rendered though an emission shader using normal-distance bump mapping. Rendered with 4 samples in 10 seconds on a 2017 i7 CPU, no graphics card.

Zoomed in even more on the minibrot.

Side view angle. The height is the square root of iterations/maxiterations. Rendered with 750 iterations.

An interesting minibrot I found, rendered at 2000 iterations to achieve full detail.
